ST VINCENT DE PAUL

Each year in Northern Ireland, the Society of St Vincent de Paul spends more than £5m assisting individuals and families living in poverty in our local communities. As well as expending this in direct financial assistance in the form of vouchers for eg food and fuel, other essential items including household items and white goods are also provided.

How We Help

We offer a confidential, person-centred, non-judgemental service to our clients, whoever or wherever they are. Home visitation is the cornerstone of our work and two SVP members will visit clients requesting our help. We are a member-led organisation with SVP Conferences across the Northern Region and our 1,000 dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to meet the needs of those seeking our help and support.

Could You Help SVP?

The ongoing and continued generosity of an ever-giving public ensures we continue to offer a high level of support to those in need to help them maintain their self-respect and dignity. Whilst financial and material donations are always welcome, we are constantly looking for new volunteers. Please consider joining us and becoming a member – as little as 2 hours per week would be greatly appreciated. You could make a difference in the lives of those facing poverty and reduce their isolation while helping them be more self sufficient.

We have a Conference in our parish which is made up of parishioners who are keen to help in their local community. If you do not feel comfortable calling to see people in our parish, there are other ways you can help SVP. We do a door collection at weekend Masses and you could help other volunteers in this task. We are also seeking volunteers who are IT savvy to manage our CRM system.

You can also help by donating, especially at Christmas when families are in despair. We would love to hear from you. Call the parish office on 028 9061 8180 or call SVP directly.
