Action for Children
We’re seeing a growing number of young people being referred into our services who need a safe and loving home.
We understand that children in care can really struggle with their identity and that it’s vitally important that they’re supported
to feel confident in their beliefs, culture and who they are.
Wherever possible, we match young people with carers who have a similar cultural identity, values and beliefs.
In order that we can give these vulnerable young people the best care, nurture and outcomes for the future
we’re asking for more potential foster carers of faith to come forward.
Our message:
There is a desperate shortage of foster carers across the UK. Our faith teaches us that children need love and nurture. Unfortunately, this is not the experience of over 30,000 children each year who enter the care system. Having faith in fostering situations can be hugely beneficial for these vulnerable young people who may have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect. Our faith can provide them with structure, stability and a whole community to support the fostering family. If you think you could change a child’s life for the better and welcome them into your heart and your home, contact your local fostering service today. There are many organisations out there who welcome faith in fostering and who do not profit from the services they provide for young people. It’s easier than you think, you just need an open heart and a spare room.
As an organisation, Action for Children was founded by a Christian minister over 150 years ago
and we still maintain an active Christian network who meet regularly to find ways of
helping vulnerable young people through faith. https://www.actionforchildren.org.uk/about-us/our-history/
